Julia Ducournau was born in Paris. She studied screenwriting at La Fémis and Columbia University.
Her work as writer-director includes the TV movie MANGE (2012) and the short JUNIOR (Cannes Critics' Week 2011). RAW (2016) is her debut feature, which received the Fipresci Prize at Cannes Critics' Week earlier this year.
